Intro

My name is Ivory McKelvin, and I am the Operations Assistant for Captiva Solutions LLC (Captiva).  A Virginia Small, Woman, and Minority-Owned, Cybersecurity training organization that proudly embraces its role in fostering economic growth and diversity in the business community. I have the privilege of collaborating with a team that brings energy, innovation, and a diverse perspective. Before joining Captiva, I had no previous experience in cybersecurity. My background includes project management, risk, compliance, and human resources.

Day in the Life of an Operations Assistant

In the vibrant world of cybersecurity, there’s a team of unsung heroes working diligently behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of the organization. Among them are Administrative Assistants or in my case, The Operations Assistant.

As an Operations Assistant in a cybersecurity training organization, whether it’s answering phones, responding to emails, or managing deadlines, my attention to detail and organizational skills are instrumental in maintaining compliance with industry regulations and standards.  

Behind every successful cybersecurity operation lies a well-oiled administrative machinery. As an Operations Assistant, I’m no stranger to juggling multiple tasks simultaneously, all while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor. My ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to evolving priorities ensures that critical projects stay on track and deadlines are met without compromise. In the fast-paced world of cybersecurity, my role is essential in keeping operations running smoothly.
