How do you give back or contribute to your community?
- Mentorship / Apprenticeship Programs – Currently in development is an apprenticeship program that will provide support to women looking to acquire the necessary skills needed to enter or advance in the cybersecurity field and achieve their professional goals.
- Hosting Workshops and Seminars – Currently, Captiva hosts various events that provide valuable learning opportunities, foster networking, and inspire participants to explore new areas within the field.
- Promoting Inclusive Work Environments – At Captiva, we have implemented policies that promote work-life balance, equal opportunities, and a respectful work culture which makes a significant difference in creating an environment where women can thrive.
What hobbies outside of work do you engage in?
- Reading –This provides relaxation and a refreshing break from the technicalities of cybersecurity.
- Music –This serves as a creative outlet and a way to mentally disconnect from work-related thoughts, boost creativity, and improve concentration.
- Health and Fitness – Maintaining physical health is essential, especially in high-stress jobs such as in the cybersecurity industry. I find that regular exercise helps manage stress, boost energy levels and can be a fun way to socialize outside of work.

Are you working on any exciting new projects that you can share? How do you think it will help people?
- Addressing a Critical Need – The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) framework is a unified standard for implementing cybersecurity across the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) that addresses a critical need. In developing curricula for the Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) and Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA) credentials and addressing requirements for CMMC certification, Captiva is directly contributing to the national security posture by ensuring that individuals and organizations have access to high-quality, standardized training and knowledge.
- Empowering Professionals –By offering training for the CCP and CCA credentials, Captiva is empowering professionals with the skills and credentials needed to stand out in the cybersecurity field, particularly in roles related to defense contracting and supply chain security.
- Enhancing Organizational Security –The training provided by Captiva enables organizations to better understand the CMMC requirements, prepare for certification, and ultimately enhance their cybersecurity posture. Building a culture of cybersecurity resilience that can significantly reduce the risk of breaches and cyber-attacks.
